There are 4 Island Hopping tours A,B,C and D. This article will be about the Island Hopping Tour A.
Tour A is one of the best and most popular island hopping tours in El Nido. You will discover beautiful lagoons, beaches and snorkeling spots where you can swim and admire the corals and hundred of fishes. For a price of only 1200 PHP it is worth the adventure. The duration of the tour is about 7 hours in total from 9 AM to 4 PM. The departure is from the El Nido Pier.
Our boat first stopped at an island they call Seven Commandos Beach, which is very beautiful. According to the history about the origin of its name, a huge fishing vessel once got stranded in the waters of El Nido. After days of waiting for rescue, the crew decided to look for an island to call their temporary home. They eventually stayed there for months until their boat was repaired or rescue arrived. After they abandoned the island, the locals then rediscovered it and found vandalism on a huge rock that said “Seven Commandos” and then they named the beach after that.
Next stop is at Shimizu Island. It is named after a Japanese diver who died in an underwater tunnel in this island, Shimizu has been considered as one of the best snorkeling sites in El Nido.
At noon, we stopped on an island for lunch. The beach was quite small. During the tour, the boat crew prepares the lunch on the boat. We had a lunch buffet of grilled fish, pork, chicken, crabs, rice and fruits. The lunch is a self-service buffet on the beach.
Next is the Small Lagoon, which is very nice. The crew suggested us to hire a kayak so we can explore it ourselves. It was my first time to go kayaking so its a very fun experience.
Next, we arrived at the Big lagoon, the passage to the lagoon which is formed by the contrast of the black majestic limestone cliff and the crystal clear pristine blue water. The guide told us it is not so good to swim here because it is deep.
Our final destination is at the Secret lagoon also known as Hidden Lagoon, of Miniloc Island. When our boat finally docked, we saw a little hole opening in one of the cliffs which is the entrance. Fortunately, the opening was above the water so we didn’t have to swim through it. We just had to crawl into the Secret Lagoon. The temperature inside was much cooler because it is constantly in the shadows of the limestone cliffs enclosing it.
